The Last Lecture
In Psychology, we just finished the Lifespan Growth and Development chapter. Our last topic of conversation for that chapter was, Death & Dying. I mentioned to you the "Last Lecture" given by a professor a month after he found out that he had 3-6 months to live because of his cancer diagnosis. The full lecture is about an hour and half but Dr. Pausch did an abbreviated version on Opera that aired last week that is about 10 minutes. Click below to watch that version. 1.) think about what stage Dr. Pausch is in according to Kubler-Ross' stages of grief. 2.) What life lessons did you learn from this lecture.

Hi everyone,
As we quickly approach mid-term, Mrs. Wallis and I want you to put on your psychologist's hat and think about the concept of happiness. What does happiness mean to you? Are you happy? And explain why or why not.
Please have a great weekend, read your syllabus, and be safe.
Later,
Ms. Alvarado

Two Wishes and a Star....
In regards to the Learning Community (both classes), think about your experiences thus far this semester. What is working, what could be improved, etc.... The Two wishes and a star concept is an evaluation process of your experiences in our classes, the Learning Community.
Two wishes....what are two things you wish we would do differently- that could be improved or strengthened to aid in your learning?
The Star....what are we doing right. What is working for you?
(The Psych study guide is the previous post.)

Attitude
Hi everyone.
They say attitude is everything. So, Mrs. Wallis and I were thinking; if you were asked to rate your attitude from 1-10. Ten (10) being the best and Zero (0) being the worst. What would your score be?

We made it through week 1
Welcome back after what I hope was a great Labor Day weekend. You all did such a great job on week 1 of the blog....keep it up.
Here is week 2's topic:
What was your impression of the first week of school? How do you feel about your classes, workload, instructors, etc....
On a side note: In Psychology class last week, we discussed Stanley Milgram's study on obedience. Which ultimately lead us to the discussion of ethics in research. As promised, click HERE to watch a reproduced clip of the original experiement. Think about how you would feel if you were put into that situation.
