I think it's pretty dead on. Its definately a strong video. We have to be the example for our children. Some kids do turn into their parents. They need the right example in their life.

Very depressing music. I think children do watch what their parents do so the children will of course see it as being okay. It's a sad situation that the parents are too busy to notice their children.

Great comments Hansel and Mandy....you guys are right on! We repeat and model the behaviors before us without even considering the ramifications or impact of those behaviors.

"Gosh" a powerful video. Makes you think; who are your role models? and what kind of role model are you? I feel fortunate to have great role models and I also feel I am still a work in progress. So, my goal is to associate and hang around with people who have good values and who are compassionate and fair. Mrs. Wallis and I were having a discussion about this earlier.
Keep the faith, have a good week and weekend and see you in class.
Later, Ms. Alvarado

I think this video puts the in the mind of a child, they see everything we do.The kids in our lives learn the things they do from us,there like a sponge soaking in every moment and learning how to react, how to build there character.Thats why its important to lead by example, if you don't want your kid to do something you don't want them to do then be an example and not do it either.

This was a very good video I even showed my friends because they do have kids and always wonder why sometimes they do and act the way they do. I always tell them they see you doing it so they think its okay. I know I really have to watch what i do and say around my nephew, he is 2 but picks up so much from oberving my family and i.

well i think the video its pretty straight forward. it is kind of awkward though, but is showing parents how their children are influenced by them. they don't know whats wrong or right? so they just do what their parents do...so parents need to be more careful on what they do.

Well, I have a son named Zander that is already going to be three. Today he asked me for a cigarette and when I responded no he asked why. I know it's bad that he asked that, but if he sees mommy and the rest of the family smoking he thinks its nothing but normal. The last clip where they showed the husband beating the wife and the son joined in almost made me cry. My sons father was extremely violent and abusive and it was mostly in front of Zander. Now, my son will hit me and think its okay, and it makes me sick to think that he learned it from his father. Its been almost a year since his father and I split up but I always wonder, will he remember everything he saw? Will it effect him as a man as he gets older no matter how much we tell him its wrong to hit? Monkey see monkey do! Thats a very powerful and sadly a very common thing to see. But thats why we as parents have to send the right messages to our children, right from wrong. I think a lot of parents need to sit back and look at the way they act and how it effects their children. And whats even more disturbing, many parents dont care!!

that's really depressing to even think that i child is killing themselves by smoking just because they see their parent doing it.. it's a very sad truth..
